Valleys to Coast to bring accessible housing to Bridgend community with the development of former motor dealer

Valleys to Coast’s latest development will be built on Ewenny Road in Bridgend, with works set to commence in February 2021.

Situated on the corner junction with St Marie Street, leading into the town centre, the development will bring much needed accessible housing to the community, providing homes where people can feel safe and happy.

Previously, the site was home to a motor dealer, Leslie Griffiths Motors. The dealers opened in 1975 and, during their time, were the sponsors for several Welsh motor racing championship events. Most recently, the building was used as a double-glazing store. By restoring this derelict site and bringing it back into use, Valleys to Coast hopes to support our vision of building a better Wales.

The development will consist of seven single-bedroom flats over three storeys and will also include three parking spaces to the rear of the property.

For this project, we are working with Tylux, a Porthcawl-based construction company. Works are estimated to take around a year to complete, with tenants expected to move in around January 2022.
