Tenants may transfer from one V2C property to another. We will usually only do this if you have a good reason for needing to be re-housed, such as if you are affected by the Welfare Reform Act, or your home is too big or too small* for your household.
Before we can consider an application for a transfer you must:
Have a satisfactory rent record.
Have no rechargeable repairs after an inspection.
Not have done any unauthorised alterations to your home.
Have no evidence of nuisance caused at your current address.
What if I cannot meet these requirements but really do need to move house?
In exceptional circumstances we may consider allowing you to transfer, even if you do not meet the conditions above. Talk to your V2C Housing Officer about your circumstances and they will advise you.
We are not able to help everyone who would like a housing transfer so please bear this in mind if you expect your household size to increase. We must make the best use of the properties we have to meet the needs of both new and existing customers.
You might find it quicker to move home by carrying out an exchange with another tenant. To find out more information on mutual exchange click here
