Welsh Government Housing Regulation
Each year the Welsh Government publishes a regulatory judgement that outlines the regulator's view of how well we’re performing in relation to the performance standards. Our 2019 regulatory judgement was published on 21st October 2019.
For the first time the Welsh Government has reduced our regulatory status for Governance and Services to 'Increased', which means they will work more closely with us to address specific concerns we have raised with them.
Over the summer our Board and Executive Team recognised that we would not meet certain Performance Standards and notified the regulator accordingly. The areas where we have identified weaknesses in our Governance and advised the Regulator are in relation to procurement management and policies, human resources management and policies and retention and organisation of our data.
Our judgement for Financial Viability remains ‘Standard’. This is the highest ranking within the current regulatory framework and demonstrates our continuing financial strength.
The Board and Executive Team fully accepts the Regulatory Judgement and have already established a comprehensive action plan for improvements, which the Board is overseeing and which is agreed by the regulator. We are working closely with Welsh Government to ensure we meet their expectations and deliver fully against those Performance Standards.
We will continue to operate as normal and no services are affected. Customers can be assured that their tenancy and the services they receive are unaffected.
We will continue to be ambitious and deliver excellent customer service, so that people feel happy and safe in their homes.
